InnerMe Training for Schools & Services

Understanding behaviour from the inside out –

with the Build the Bridge Framework.

Bridging the gap between challenge and change.

Is your team working with children who...

  • Show big, unpredictable emotions or "explode without warning"?

  • Struggle with transitions, shutdowns or meltdowns?

  • Seem disconnected from their body cues – always tired, never hungry, or constantly "on edge"?

  • Mask all day, then fall apart at home?

You're not alone – but there's a reason traditional behaviour strategies fall short here.

Why Traditional Approaches Aren’t Working

Many common strategies in schools and services focus on surface-level behaviour — sticker charts, rewards, consequence ladders. But these systems:

  • Rely on cognitive control children don’t yet have

  • Overlook nervous system states like anxiety, overwhelm or burnout

  • Prioritise compliance over connection

  • Fail to recognise the child’s internal experience

Children aren’t giving you a hard time.

They’re having a hard time – and their body is often trying to say what words can’t.

Enter: The Build the Bridge Framework

The InnerMe Project’s Build the Bridge Framework is an evidence-informed approach that supports children to move from mutual regulation to self-regulation through improved awareness of their bodily signals (interoception).

It’s rooted in:

  • Neuroscience of behaviour and regulation

  • Trauma-informed, attachment-aware practice

  • Interoception research showing strong links to mental health, emotional regulation and functional independence

  • Research from occupational therapy, polyvagal theory and neurodevelopmental science

What is the InnerMe Training?

The InnerMe Training for Schools and Services provides bespoke, immersive training for professionals supporting children with emotional and sensory regulation needs.

Whether you’re a school, therapy service, or early years setting – we adapt the content to your team’s needs, roles and everyday challenges.

Your Team Will Learn:

  • About the 8 sensory systems and why interoception (the 8th sense) is key to understanding behaviour

  • How to recognise signs of poor interoception (missed hunger, toileting, emotional shutdown) and how it impacts on a child’s day to day life and behaviour.

  • A breakdown of the Build the Bridge Framework, including:

  • Creating safety first

  • Noticing body signals

  • Developing emotional language

  • Teaching self-awareness tools

  • Growing resilience and reducing burnout

  • Practical, relationship-led strategies that work with the nervous system, not against it

What You Get:

  • Pre-training call to tailor content

  • Full day of interactive, trauma-informed training

  • Tools and activities to use in your setting

  • Strategies to embed sensory safety and co-regulation into your environment

  • Q&A time with InnerMe’s founder and neurodiversity-specialist OT, Kate Grayson

  • Optional follow-up consultation sessions
